seabmark Simply a great product

Itchy ex-GI Unfortunately during the first Gulf War I contracted an un-curable skin fungal ailment called Tinea Versicolor and after years of un-sucessful treatments including, anti-fungal meds, leaving selsun blue on the skin overnight, and topical anti fungals it was continually worsening and continuing tp plague me and keep me scratching with visible sign even in the winter. (This ailment increases greatly in the heat and when you sweat).

I still take an oral anti-fungal in the summer but this soap alone keeps me itch free with no visible sign of the rash almost year round. I just shower with it normally. Great Stuff and I really like the smell which does not stay with you after showering.

I've been using this for almost 2 years now and waited to give this review to see if like many other solutions it worked great short term then the rash comes back with a vengence. It didn't and the soap seems to do a great job keeping it that way.

this is YOUR product.

the soap has a strong, tar like, smoke like smell to the raw soap but lathers well.

but the real kicker is FLEAS AND TICKS HATE THIS SOAP. whenever you come in from a long day hunting or camping or hiking etc... take a shower with this stuff and small parasitic insects you probably never knew where there will literally jump off of your body as if they are completely repulsed!

my dog had fleas once very badly from an outdoor jaunt, and because he had them... my wife and i eventually got them. We consider ourselves to be clean hygienic types and we were both disgusted yet AMAZED at how many of them jumped off of him (and us) when we bathed with this soap in the shower. it was as if someone was sprinkling pepper on the shower floor! though it was a pretty disgusting site, his flea problem (and mine) was licked cold almost overnight.

now i use it before i plan on doing any long term outdoor activities, hiking, camping or hunting etc.

this soap is great!

just bought 10 bars!

It's snowing on my head. Hunter's and hikers and outdoors types!

TriedWithPride Strong pine scent in the shower, but does not linger on the skin very long. I used this for psoriasis and eczema. It did not cure my ailment, but it did not irritate it or make it worse as other soaps did. It helped stop the burning and itching too. I noticed some improvement, when combined with diet alteration and healthier lifestyle. I have not used this soap in a while due to the fact that from lifestyle and nutritional changes, I am free of signs of rash for a few years now. However, I would recommend this soap to anyone who can tolerate the strong pine scent, for a clean natural experience. Great product that is worth a try!

Itchy I had high hopes for this product after reading the reviews. I developed the PUPPPs rash when I was about 7 months pregnant, and since I didn't feel good about using prescription creams long-term I was looking for a more natural product to treat the itching. After a week of use, my rash had not only gotten worse - redder and bumpier - but had spread to new areas. In addition, the rest of my skin that was not covered in the rash was becoming unbearably itchy and dry. I switched back to a regular natural soap and felt some relief within hours. I would still recommend trying this, as it's inexpensive and has obviously worked for so many others, but sadly it did not work for me.

A note about the smell: after you get used to it, it's really not that bad. It almost smelled more in my bathroom cabinet before I started using it than it did in the soapdish after use. As an experiment I did not tell my husband about it, to see if he noticed the tar smell, and he never said a word.

A PINER FOR LIFE I BOUGHT THIS SOAP FOR MY 15 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WHO HAS SUFFERED FROM PSORIASIS SINCE SHE WAS 6 YEARS OLD, BUT I TRIED IT BECAUSE OF WHAT I READ IN THE REVIEWS. WHAT A FANTASTIC RESULT. TRIED IT ON MY FACE FIRST AND IT WAS AS THOUGH AN ENTIRE LAYER OF ROUGH, DRIED SKIN WAS REMOVED. MY FACE WAS SMOOTH AND NOT DRIED OUT! I'M 53 YEARS OLD. NOW IT'S THE ONLY SOAP IN THE SHOWER FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY. YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT IT DOES FOR YOUR SKIN. TO ME THE SMELL IS SO MINOR. AT THIS PRICE, TRY IT. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. ALMOST FORGOT.... WORKS BEAUTIFUL ON MY DAUGHTER'S PSORIASIS. IT KEEPS THE DRY SCALES AWAY AND HER SKIN LOOKS AND FEELS MUCH BETTER. SHE IS HAPPY WITH IT TOO.

Angie So far I have only tried this soap as a shampoo because I read it helps with hair loss. I've been using it for about a week now and definitely less hair has been falling out. I'm super pleased about that because I've tried many shampoos before this, all to no avail. After reading so many comments about skin benefits I will start using it for my face and body too. I have skin which alternates between being very dry and very oily, and acne and eczema prone so I am thrilled to find a soap which helps with all of these conditions. I was using dove but that contains a chemical called edta or something like that which some sources say is toxic. The pine tar soap does have a really unpleasant smell in the bathroom but the smell doesn't linger on hair so I'm sure it won't linger on body either. The other drawback is that it leaves hair very flat and lifeless because it leaves a residue on strands. It doesn't look greasy, just lifeless. These are compromises I can live with though.

silly me I bought this when my eczema flared up on my face and hands etc. It doesn't irritate at all and seems to help some. I think if I was careful to ONLY use it to wash my hands through the day, it would help more. I feel neutral about the smell. It isn't "wonderful" but it isn't awful either. I think our modern generations are used to all soaps having heavy scents and any natural soap without those extra chemicals - seems odd. It does seem to get skin squeeky clean but without drying. And is definately better for sensitive allergy prone skin. My husband has a problem with lingering arm pit ordor no matter what type of soap or cleanser he uses. But, he likes this and it seems to be more effective than body washes.. Like all bar soaps, you need to protect it or remove it between uses rather than leave it exposed to shower spray. If you take this precaution, it will last a long time.

Ken the cook I had really dry elbows and could never remember to use any kind of lotion to help. My wife saw this soap in a local health food/product store and read the box and decided to bring it home for me to try. I've has been using it ever since. My elbows are as soft as a baby's behind. I love the clean, fresh smell. I'm in my 60's and it reminds me of my youth.
